Classroom of the Future opened in Children's Hospital Zagreb
After several elementary schools and high schools across Croatia, for the first time ever Classroom of the Future project joins School in the hospital. On December 6th two Classrooms of the future were opened; one in the Children's Hospital Zagreb and one in the Department of Hematology and Oncology „Dr. Mladen Ćepulić“. Project was established by Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, Samsung Electronics and Storm Computers. This project will enable interactive learning with support of the latest ICT technologies for all students who are in long-term hospitalization, as in pediatric clinic and in the department of pediatric oncology. It is the first classroom of this kind, which aims to help patients of this hospitals overcome everyday obstacles and sense of isolation. Depending on health, mental and physical condition of each student, classes will be organized in groups in the classroom and individually - in patients' rooms. While on a treatment, students are taught by teachers from Primary School Izidor Kršnjavi in Zagreb. It is worth to mention that this School in hospital is the first of 12 Schools in hospital in Croatia to introduce e-journal for classes in hospital and thus achieves a much faster and better cooperation with the main school. With the help of modern tools, tablet PCs and audio-video connection, classroom offers distance learning and connection with their home schools across Croatia. Storm Computers has been recognized as a partner in the design and implementation of EDU solutions through project Classroom of the future. Also, company provides support through education and training. Worth to remember, in cooperation with CARNet, Samsung and Storm Computers, first Classroom of the future was opened in September 2013 in elementary school Kamešnica, followed by schools in Bjelovar, Gunja, Koprivnica, Popovača and Zagreb.
